Do You Have
California
Gold Country
Pioneer Roots?
Let
Us Help You Find Your Ancestry
The El Dorado
County (the California county in which gold was discovered in 1849)
courthouse was destroyed by fire in 1910. All birth and death records were
lost. Finding information on these individuals requires a search of
historical references in a variety of old books, cemeteries, etc. They are
not currently online because most genealogical sites require more
data than is available for them to publish. So
if you're looking for your pioneer past, a 'down and dirty' search through
less conventional sources is all that's available. There
are hundreds of settlers mentioned in the index to the History of El
Dorado County that's online at this site. Thousands of other references
are available through a manual search. Are you looking for your past? Try
the index first. If you can't find them there, then you might like to have
us search for you.
| Mini-search |
|
We'll search the complete index from all known pioneer cemeteries in
El Dorado County. Of course we don't know what, if anything we'll
find, but we'll deliver any/all the information we find,
generally within 10 days. |
